1. Extra bite in the final thirdNot many footballers can lay claim to a teeth-based attack on an opponent, and even Norman Hunter limited his biting to legs. Suárez received a seven match domestic ban for this bite out of the shoulder of PSV Eindhoven's Otman Bakkal in November 2010. Tasty. Watch more...
2. A helping hand in defenceUndeniably the most notorious moment of Suárez's career to date, with his Uruguay side drawing 1-1 against Ghana and heading for extra time Dominic Adiyiah unleashed a goalbound shot which Suárez blatantly kept out with his hands. He was sent off, but Ghana's Asamoah Gyan missed the resulting penalty and Uruguay secured an unjust triumph in the penalty shoot-out. Suárez's reaction to the subsequent missed penalty is also something to behold. Watch more...
3. Actual goalkeeping skillsNot since Lucas Radebe has the Premier League featured an outfield player that offered a legitimate option as a replacement goalkeeper in the event of injury (and no cover on the bench). Suárez dons some gloves and attempts to save two penalties by an Ajax team-mate. His first attempt isn't great, but the second suggests he has the ability to take over from Pepe Reina in an emergency. Watch more...
4. Reliably boring interviewsSuárez's first interview as a Liverpool player was heavy on the bland platitudes and light on any hint of a personality. He may have been sanitised by his translator, but in a league of largely stoic, dull interviewees he will fit right in. Watch more...
5. Lots and lots of goalsSuárez scored 81 in three and half year at Ajax, and he exhibits a pleasing ability to score in a variety of ways. This video of 49 of his best goals in Ajax colours features composed penalties, long-range screamers, opportunistic poacher's goals and well-taken one-on-ones. If he can repeat this form on Merseyside Liverpool have got themselves a bargain. Just don't mention Meteja Kezman.
